Meet Modreck Maereseera of the Lemba Jewish community in Zimbabwe! This fascinating community has been practicing Judaism, including Kashrut. in Africa for generations and trace their roots to biblical times, despite little contact with other Jews. Because of their oral traditions and other Jewish practices, they had to remain secretive and isolated from other African communities. After recently reconnecting with the wider global Jewish community, teaching themselves through the internet and volunteer mentors, they are ready to share their unique culture!
