Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob was established in 1860. Our membership is of diverse backgrounds who seek the beauty of our traditions and practices from time immemorial. There are services three times a day, every day, and Shabbos and Holiday services, which are held in our magnificent Sanctuary. Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob offers many opportunities in adult education with classes for beginners in the Five Books of Moses and Basic Judaism, along with classes in Talmud, Jewish Law (Halacha) and Portion of the Week, etc.
The afternoon Hebrew School provides an excellent education in the basics of our traditions and Holidays. The children are prepared for their Bar/Bas Mitzvah as they learn to read and appreciate their heritage. The Congregation enjoys the efforts of Brotherhood and Sisterhood organizations which provide Chanuka and Purim family celebrations, as well as dinners periodically and breathtaking Friday night Shabbos family dinners. The Chevra Kadisha (Holy Burial Society) provides sensitive care during times of need. Our youth have the opportunity to participate in the National Council of Synagogue Youth (NCSY) and enjoy the many activities designed especially for them.
The warmth of our Congregational family can be sensed every Shabbos which is crowned with a beautiful kiddush at the conclusion of Services.
