Jewish Family Service Programs
Counseling: Psychotherapy services are provided to children, adolescents and adults by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Our goal is to help Jewish individuals and families overcome life's hurdles so that balance, growth, stability and self-fulfillment may be enhanced.
Support Groups: JFS offers support groups on an as needed basis. If a person cannot be matched with a topical support group, JFS will help to find one in the community or help initiate one.
Jewish Family Life Programming: Designed to educate, support and help families cope with challenges in everyday living, Jewish Family Life Programming will strengthen Jewish families and promote a sense of connection to the Jewish community through lectures, as well as group discussions.
Financial Assistance: Jewish Family Services offers limited financial help and loans for those who qualify.
Jewish Educational Loan Fund: Jewish Family Services is affiliated with the regional program Jewish Educational Loan Fund (JELF). JELF provides interest free college loans to qualifying young Jewish adults whose families reside in the Southeastern United States.
Case Management/Information and Referral: The goal of Jewish Family Services is to provide a support system to meet the needs of adults striving to maintain independence. This process begins with an assessment to determine which of the following services might be appropriate.
Meal Program: Senior adults can enjoy a kosher lunch at the JEA on Thursdays. The focus of the JFS Meal Program is centered upon socialization, as well as nutrition. An always engaging cultural or educational program follows Thursday's lunch. There is a small fee for the lunch but the program is free. Kosher home meals, delivered by family members or volunteers, are provided to those people who cannot come to the JEA.
