Hebrew Community School
The Hebrew Community School has been the first Hebrew afternoon school in Savannah, being in existence for over a century. The school provides excellent Hebrew education for children who are of kindergarten age and up through pre-Bar and Bas Mitzvah age. From Kindergarten through Second grade, there is Sunday School in which the Hebrew letters and Jewish heritage are taught. From Third grade through the pre-Bar/Bas Mitzvah age, the children come Monday, Wednesday and Sunday to gain reading skills, familiarize themselves with the prayer book, learn to be a part of the Jewish people and understand who they are. Many of the leaders of the Savannah Jewish Community for generations have gotten their foundation from the Hebrew Community School, which serves the whole community. Classes are held on Sunday from 10:00 am until 11:45 am. On Monday and Wednesday, the classes are held at 3:45 pm until 5:30 pm. More information can be attained by calling the school office during school time (from September to May) at 354-0653 or call the B.B. Jacob Synagogue at 354-7721.

Rambam Day School
Rambam Day School is unique in the opportunities that it offers to our Jewish children. It has a dual program of secular and Judaic education. Both programs afford children an experience in understanding the part they each play in their heritage and their role in society.
Rambam students perform at the highest level of achievement. They are applauded when this goal is reached and encouraged when they fall short of their own ability. Rambam students are a family, therefore the success of one is shared by all, and the need to be encouraged is sensed by all.

A student once expressed most profoundly the essence of RDS: Rambam is a community school whereby anyone, from any background, can join our "family" and feel at home. Indeed this is the school philosophy -- every Jewish child has a place not only in the hearts of our faculty, but in the fiber of what makes Rambam unique.
